About Us – Karen Chesters
Principal of Hair, Makeup, Beauty & Fashion Styling Training
At TWorld Training Academy, our Principal Karen Chesters brings a lifetime of passion, creativity, and real industry experience to everything we teach.
Karen’s journey into hair, beauty, makeup, and fashion styling started at just 14 years old, where her love for creativity first began—experimenting with her “Girls World” styling head long before the days of YouTube tutorials and social media inspiration. What started as childhood play quickly grew into a lifelong career in the hair and beauty industry.
By the age of 18, Karen had already won her first award for blow-drying and styling hair and had taken the bold step of launching her own business. From there, her career continued to evolve as she expanded her skills in makeup, beauty therapy, and fashion styling—building a strong foundation in both creative artistry and professional education.
Over the years, Karen has trained at some of the most respected institutions in the UK, including Sanrizz Academy in Knightsbridge, London College of Fashion, and Pinewood Shepperton Studios. Her experience also includes working on high-profile projects such as The Clothes Show Live and assisting with celebrity and fashion industry work.
Her career has taken her from cutting hair at car boot sales to working on international creative projects—all while raising a family as a single mum. This real-life journey is what makes her teaching style so relatable, inspiring, and practical.
Today, Karen proudly leads TWorld Training Academy alongside fashion photographer Warren, creating a leading award-winning accredited training academy in Tamworth, Staffordshire, welcoming students from Birmingham and across the West Midlands.

She believes that once you understand the basics properly, everything else becomes possible. Her approach encourages students to trust their ability, develop practical skills, and step confidently into the beauty, hair, and creative industries.

Warren Garrett-About us
Principal of Photography and Photoshop.
Warren had been head of our photography department for over 9 years. Previously working in engineering as a quality control manager he has an eye for perfection. Inspite of this Warren is camera shy and prefers to be behind a camera rather than in front of it....! He has been an avid Nikon user for many years and has loved photography ever since he was a teenager. Alongside digital photography Warren loves film photography and often shoots with his film Leica camera. He has great teaching experience but also has photographed HRH The Duchess of Cornwall, Zara Tindall and has had work featured in Argos, John Lewis, Chad Valley as well as working on fashion shoots internationally.
With much enthusiasm he has taught thousands of budding photography students over the years some of whom have then succeeded to have gone on to set up their own business including those who have become wedding, equine, property and fashion photographers. Warren is always proud of all students who go on to live their dream. His knowledge is second to none and previous students have described him to be very patient as a tutor and explains the subject very simply and clearly.
Warren's approach to photography and photoshop is to get it right in camera first of all then use photoshop as a minimal digital darkroom- so you spent less time editing and more time shooting.
