Karen Chesters – Hair and Beauty Educator

Principal of Hair, Make Up and Beauty

Karen started working in hairdressing salons at just 14 years old, with a passion for hair that began even earlier. By the age of 18, she had already won her first award for blow-waving hair and launched her own business, which has grown and evolved enormously in the years since.

She went on to train further in make-up and beauty, building the expertise and experience that would eventually become TWorld Training. Karen has worked on a wide range of high-profile assignments, including at The Clothes Show Live and with celebrity clients, and has trained at some of the industry's most respected institutions, including Sanrizz Academy Knightsbridge London, the London College of Fashion, and Pinewood Shepperton Studios.

Over the years, Karen has done it all — from cutting hair at car boot sales in the early days to working on high-end international projects — all while raising a family as a single mum. Her career is proof that real success in this industry comes from hard work, resourcefulness, and a genuine passion for the craft.

Karen's philosophy is simple: get the foundations right, then go for it. How do you know you can't do something until you try? Alongside technical training, Karen also supports students with practical business knowledge, drawing on her own experience of building a business from nothing. Many of her students have gone on to join her on paid jobs once qualified, and others have gone on to launch their own successful hair and beauty businesses.

Corporate Clients

Karen has also delivered corporate team building events for well-known names including L'Oréal Professionnel, John Lewis, Argos, Microsoft, and Costa Coffee, among others.
